Megan has supported non-profit organizations and Equine Assisted Therapy programs with donations and volunteer hours. As Miss University of Louisville, she made these programs her personal platform while working to spread awareness and fundraising.

Megan received the Long Island Good Deed Award for her volunteer work with Horses and Hope, a non-profit therapeutic riding program, and has also volunteered at Green Hill Therapy in Louisville, KY.

During her time as President of the Riding & Racing Club, Megan founded a program called, Horseshoes for Hope, a fundraiser to benefit Horses and Hope, a Breast Cancer Awareness initiative of the Kentucky Cancer Program and the Office of the First Lady, Jane Beshear. Attendees could purchase an authentic horseshoe, donated by local farriers, to paint or decorate. After the horseshoes were decorated, attendees could either keep the shoes or donate them back to the Riding & Racing Club. All proceeds from the event, as well as the horseshoes, were donated to individuals diagnosed with Breast Cancer at a Horses and Hope event. After all, horseshoes are good luck! Megan also negotiated an agreement to bring horses on the University of Louisville campus to promote the event. Horseshoes for Hope was so successful and well received that it has now become an annual event.

As a Delta Zeta, Megan supported numerous events for the benefit of the Delta Zeta philanthropies including the Starkey Hearing Foundation, Gallaudet University, the Painted Turtle Camp and the Heuser Hearing Institute.

Megan enjoys volunteering at rescue or retraining centers and has worked for Take Two Thoroughbred Programs and Makers Mark Secretariat Center and the California Retirement Management Account (CARMA).
